Walter Matthysse signs deal with Sampson Boxing

Sampson Boxing has mad a big splash with the signing of Walter Matthysse Jr. Matthysse is a highly touted Argentinian amateur with a 59-3-1 amateur record with 30 knockouts.

Walter Matthysse is nephew to Lucas Matthysse, a two time world champion, and his father, Walter Matthysse Sr., a world title challenger. Junior has boxing in his blood and is a big time prospect.

Matthysse is excited to be seen by a promotion like Sampson Boxing. He is ready to come out and perform for his new promotion.

“I’m very happy and proud that a company like Sampson Boxing has noticed me and I promise to give my best in this new stage of my career,” said the young Matthysse.

Sampson Lewkowicz is ready to get Matthysse in front of his home country in the big stage. After his first professional homecoming, Lewkowicz plans to get him with some of the best trainers available.

“As soon as the pandemic allows it, Walter Jr. will make his professional debut live on TyC Sports in Argentina,” said Lewkowicz. “He will then be moving to Coachella, California, to train with Freddy Fundora after that, together with our great Uruguayan prospect Amilcar Vidal and one of the world’s best super welterweights, Sebastian ‘Towering Inferno’ Fundora.”

Walter Matthysse and his big future

WBC President, Mauricio Sulaiman, is excited to see the return of a Mattysse to the ring and has high hopes for the Argentinian.
“I congratulate Tello and Sampson for signing this great prospect,” said WBC President Mauricio Sulaiman. “I know Walter Jr for having won a World WBC Challenge in the United States in the best fight of that evening. I believe that this future green and gold champion cannot be in better hands. Sampson represents and defends his fighters like no-one else.”

Boxing hall of famer, Sergio Martinez, applauds both Walter Matthysse and Sampson boxing for such a great signing. He knows that Sampson will put the best team around him.

“I am happy that Walter has signed with Sampson and Tello,” sad former two-time super welterweight and middleweight world champion Sergio “Maravilla” Martinez. “Walter can trust his new team because he is surrounded by the best. It was a blessing that god put my career in the hands of Sampson.”
Matthysse’s uncle and trainer, Mario Navarez, is excited to be with Sampson as well. He’s excited to work with familiar faces and to get back to work.
“We chose Sampson Boxing and Tello Box because I have known them for a long time and they give tranquility and security in the way they work,” said Narvaez.
Sampson Lewkowicz is excited to have the family business back with Sampson boxing. He assures the Argentinian people that they will have more great boxing to look forward to.
“This young fighter is from Argentinean boxing royalty,” continued Lewkowicz. “His father was a boxer. His uncle was a boxer. His grandfather was a boxer. His aunt was a boxer. I am very happy to be working with this future world champion and his family and team. Argentina will soon have another of its sons to fight on PBC and ShoBox and wear the world championship belt.”
