William Knight to fight Alonzo Menifield on UFC’s Feb. 27 card

William Knight and Alonzo Menifield have been added to the UFC’s Feb. 27 card. MMA Junkie was first to report the news of the upcoming 2021 light heavyweight bout.

Knight (9-1) earned a UFC development deal in 2019 on Dana White’s Contender Series. After spending some time in the development program, Knight went back to the contender series this summer and impressed UFC president Dana White to earn a UFC contract.

Once William Knight signed the contract, he wasted no time getting inside the octagon as he debuted in September and defeated Aleksa Camur by unanimous decision in his UFC debut.

Menifield (9-2) is fellow alum of the contender series and made a huge impression on the promotion when he debuted in 2019. He opened his career by knocking out Vinicius Moreira and Paul Craig, who is currently ranked in the light heavyweight division.

After putting the division on notice, Menifield slumped in 2020 by losing both of his fights to Devin Clark and Ovince Saint Preux.

The UFC’s Feb. 27 card currently does not have an official location. As of right now there is only one other fight confirmed for the card and that is another light heavyweight fight between former title challenger Dominick Reyes and streaking contender Jiri Prochazka.
