Yosuke Saruta vs Gustavo Balart Discuss Their ONE: Bad Blood Bout

Yosuke Saruta vs Gustavo Balart goes down on February 11th at ONE: Bad Blood. This strawweight clash emanates from Singapore Indoor Stadium.

Saruta looks to rebound from his rubber match with Joshua Pacio. A trilogy clash where he was finished in the first round via strikes at ONE: Revolution in September.

Balart aims to put together back-to-back victories inside the Circle. His last outing saw him garner a unanimous decision win over Ryuto Sawada at ONE: Battleground in July.

In an interview with onefc.com, Gustavo Balart said, “Physically, I feel very good. I feel like my boxing and wrestling are superior compared to my opponent’s. Feel like I can take the fight anywhere I want. I am happy for the opportunity because I know Saruta. He is a great fighter. He is the former ONE Strawweight World Champion, and I believe that if I win this fight, I can see myself on the path to the strawweight title.”

“I have to watch out for his speed and explosiveness. I have to watch out for his hand speed or takedown attempts. But I’ve prepared for all of that. I’m always watching for his quick shots.”

Speaking with South China Morning Post, Yosuke Saruta stated, “I saw him live, and in his fight, I was really impressed by his spirit. Despite having a short-range in striking he compensated with impressive wrestling skills. I feel like I want to test my own wrestling against a former Olympic wrestler. I’m not running away from his wrestling at all. If anything, I want to see how my wrestling, my grappling stacks up against his. I want to see who’s more aggressive, who’s more well-rounded, who’s more experienced.”
