Amber “the Bully” Brown set for emotional return to the cage

Video interview with Amber Brown above

Amber “the Bully” Brown has not been in the cage for over three years.  This is with good reason.  Her daughter, Maliyah, was fighting celiac disease and diabetes and being a mother had to take precedence.  Sadly, Amber lost her mini-me last year as the disease got the best of her.  It is something that no parent should ever have to go through.

‘The Bully’ has 13 professional fights (7-6) and she has taken on many, very tough opponents as their combined record are 64-23.  Brown appeared in the cage eight of those times for Invicta FC. When news came of her return on March 11th, at  FightWorld MMA 28, we reached out to the 34-year-old to see how she was doing and talk about her fight and how she found the combat sports lifestyle.  She tells us…

“I started to train for fighting after I had my baby.  That’s how I got started in the sport about ten years ago. We started Elevation Boxing Club and to this day we do everything we can do to help kids and the community.  I was originally returning and fighting at LFA a little over six months ago. Maliyah went into cardiac arrest on the day of weigh-ins and she left us not too long after that.”

Amber knows that it will be a very emotional time for her, but she says that she has a great support system.  Crying is nothing new to her, as she does it every day, including sometimes during training sessions.  She will do her best to temper those emotions as she faces Celine Haga, whom she knows very well and has trained with in the past.

FightWorld MMA 28 will take place close to home for Brown in Albuquerque, New Mexico on March 11th.  There should be lots of support for this warrior as she tries to continue her fighting career under the most tragic of circumstances.
