Drama at BRAVE CF 80 Weigh-ins! Al-Derbani makes weight with one minute left; ‘Shorty’ vs Nkosi official for the title
BRAVE Combat Federation’s final event of the year takes place tomorrow, December 15, as BRAVE CF 80 takes over the Khalifa Sports City Arena for a night full of excitement – but it seems the thrill has started a day early, as Izzedine Al-Derbani had to fight the scale throughout the two-hour period for the official weigh-ins, before successfully stepping on the scales with one minute to go.
Al-Derbani faces Dean Garnett as part of the Team Arab Legends vs Team UK & Ireland duel during BRAVE CF 80 in the Bantamweight division – despite turning up with one minute to go, though, Izzedine weighed in at 61.4 kg under the 61.7 kg limit.
In the main event of the evening, no drama between champion and challenger as both men weighed in well under the limit, with the titleholder Jose Torres weighing in at 61.1 kg, while challenger Nkosi Ndebele stepped on the scales at 61 kg sharp. The rematch is now official for the greatest attraction of BRAVE CF 80.
All 18 fighters successfully made weight, showing their professionalism, and setting the pace for an unforgettable night under the bright lights of BRAVE Combat Federation. Later today, they will be at the Khalifa Sports City Arena for the BRAVE CF 80 Face-Offs, the last chance to see their opponent eye to eye before fight night.
