Li Kai Wen vs Fabricio Andrade set for ONE: Winter Warriors II

Li Kai Wen vs Fabricio Andrade goes down at ONE: Winter Warriors II which broadcasts on December 17th. The fight transpires from Singapore Indoor Stadium.

Wen returns to competition after over two years away from fighting to take on the dangerous Fabricio Andrade.

Andrade is currently the number four ranked bantamweight in ONE Championship. The last time Wen competed, Andrade had not even stepped foot in the ONE Circle.

Wen’s last MMA fight, as of this writing, went down on November 2019. He finished Paul Lumihi via strikes in the first frame at ONE: Masters of Fate.

Fabricio Andrade has back-to-back wins under the ONE Championship banner. Those victories came against Mark Abelardo as well as Shoko Sato and Andrade is 5-2 overall on a four-fight winning streak.

He previously cut his teeth with promotions like WFCA, Kunlun Fight, WLF, and Mix Fight.

Li Kai Wen is also on a four-fight winning streak but it’s a surprise to many he is fighting for ONE now.

Many thought Wen would be crossing over into the octagon after garnering a spot in the UFC China Academy. This after showing out at the UFC Shanghai Performance Institute’s annual combine this year.

It seemed like his tenure in ONE Championship had not ended on the greatest note with Wen acting as if he didn’t care to fight under that promotional umbrella any longer.

Li Kai Wen debuted with ONE Championship at ONE FC 24 in December 2014. Winning a pair of fights that night against Nannan He and Ya Wei Wang to capture a tournament championship.

It is unclear if Wen is fighting out his contract and then going to UFC thereafter. Or if some good faith has been restored and a new multi-fight deal has been signed off on.

What are your thoughts on Li Kai Wen vs Fabricio Andrade being featured on ONE: Winter Warriors II?
