Live MMA is Back on Long Island November 1st

MMA Platinum Gloves is coming back Saturday, November 1st, for its 7th installment of MMA on Long Island.

The event will be held at the Sports Arena, 620 Middle Country Rd. in St. James, and will feature up and coming amateur MMA athletes from the tri-state area.

Long Island gyms such as Bellmore Kickboxing, Long Island MMA, East West MMA, Tiger Schulmann’s and LionSport MMA will be showcasing their best MMA athletes.

MMA Platinum Gloves 6, held at the Sports Arena on September 6th, was an amazing night complete with 10 overall fights, including 2 title fights. Over 800 people enjoyed non-stop action from the opening bell to the last hand being raised.

Nick Fiore, of Bellmore Kickboxing, retained the lightweight title by defeating Rich Appenzeller, of East West MMA, by 1st round stoppage (due to cuts). Bellmore Kickboxing’s Danny Ochart was crowned bantamweight champion with a 3rd round submission win over UFC Gym’s Rich Pabon.

Fight of the Night honors went to the epic battle between Vamos BJJ’s Henry Mills and Bellmore Kickboxing’s John Gotti.

Both Henry and John slugged it out for 3 rounds with John earning a split decision victory. November 1st will promise to be just as great of a night as the last 6 events.

Danny Ochart will look to defend his bantamweight title when he faces East West MMA’s Shaquan Moore. Both fighters are undefeated so “someone’s O has got to go”!

The night will feature 10 exciting fights that the fans in attendance will never forget.

In addition to 10 fights, fans can enjoy food, beer and music throughout the night. Dave and Buster’s, Big Z Beverages, Thrive Apparel, New York Bully Crew and City Tattoos will all have promotional booths and there will be 50/50 raffles and giveaways all night.

Part of the ticket sales will go to the New York Bully Crew (NYBC) and the Lighthouse Mission.

The NYBC is one of New York’s largest dog rescues with over 40 dogs available to adopt. Lighthouse Mission is a Christian based charity that helps Long Islanders that are in need of food and clothing.
