Shakur Stevenson vs. Emanuel Navarrete expected for August or September
ESPN’s Salvador Rodriguez stated today that a matchup between Shakur Stevenson and Emanuel Navarrete is in the works.
The bout between Ring, WBC, and WBO super featherweight champion, Stevenson, and WBO featherweight champion, Navarrete, is expected “in August or September.”
Undefeated Shakur Stevenson is 18-0-0 with 9 KOs as a professional. Though the course of his career, he has defeated the likes of Felix Caraballo, Jeremia Nakathila, and Jamel Herring. His most recent outing came in April of this year, where he handily defeated Oscar Valdez via unanimous decision.

Navarrete (35-1-0, 29 KOs) has gone 4-1 in his last five bouts, having defeated the likes of Jeo Santisima, Ruben Villa, and Christopher Diaz. At just 27-years-old, the WBO featherweight champion defeated Joet Gonzalez in his last outing in October of last year.

The bout will take place at 130 lbs. So, it will be Stevenson’s Ring, WBC, and WBO straps on the line as Navarrete moves up from 126 lbs.
