Smilla Sundell to Jackie Buntan: “Thank you for sharing the circle with me. See you around”

Smilla Sundell made history on Friday. The 17-year-old Swede earned ONE Championship’s inaugural strawweight Muay Thai championship with a unanimous decision victory over Jackie Buntan at ONE 156 in Singapore.

Following the hard-fought victory, Sundell and Buntan took a photo together at the promotion’s host hotel.

“Thank you for sharing the circle with me @jackiebuntan See you around!” said in the post on Instagram.

“A big congrats to you Smilla! Until we meet again,” replied Buntan.

“Yeah we were trying to take each other’s heads off for 15 mins but it’s all respect afterwards,” Buntan added on her Instagram story, sharing Sundell’s original post.

Sundell was one of three performance bonus winners each taking home $50,000.  Other winners included: Regian Eersel and Mikey Musumeci.  Liam Harrison took home a $100,000 bonus.
