This Day in History for ONE Championship: ONE FC 13 went down

On This Day in History for ONE Championship, we go back to December 6th, 2013. ONE FC 13: Moment of Truth emanated from Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City, Philippines.

A huge championship rematch topped the card and several Team Lakay standouts showed out on that night.

Koji Oishi vs Honorio Banario II topped the marquee. A clash with Banario seeking redemption while Oishi looked to go 2-0 in the series.

Oishi finished Banario at ONE FC 9 via strikes in the second round to wrest the ONE featherweight world championship from his clutches.

The rematch would last a bit longer but the result was ultimately still the same. Oishi wins via punches in the third frame of the sequel affair and notches his first title defense in the process.

In the ONE FC 13 co-feature, Kevin Belingon took on David Aranda Santacana. The Team Lakay standout earned a first-round knockout and put the first-ever blemish on the professional mixed martial arts record of Santacana.

This would be the final MMA bout of David Aranda Santacana’s career, as of this writing, while Belingon readies to compete again in less than two weeks.

Eduard Folayang tested skills against Vincent Latoel and the two warriors would go the distance.

Folayang came out with the unanimous decision nod. This marked yet another instance of a Team Lakay fighter emerging victorious at ONE: Moment of Truth.

Geje Eustaquio clashed with Eugene Toquero and the former got the win over the latter. This was another unanimous decision victory for a Team Lakay representative.

Also, Paul Cheng and Alain Ngalani collided inside the ONE Circle.

Ngalani suffered the first loss of his professional MMA career here while Cheng’s first-round submission via strikes improved his record to 4-1.

What was your favorite moment overall from ONE FC 13 on This Day in ONE History?
