Tristan Connelly out of UFC 267 fight against Makwan Amirkhani
Makwan Amrikhani is in need of an opponent as Tristan Connelly is out of their fight at UFC 267.
Amirkhani broke the news on his Instagram and sources confirmed to MyMMANews that Connelly is out of the fight due to an injury. They were expected to fight at UFC 267 on October 30 in a very fun fight for the fans between two all-action fighters, yet, they will no longer be sharing the Octagon with one another. Amirkhani also confirmed he is looking to get a new opponent for that date.
“Yes he is out. It’s a sad story cause it would have been a great matchup between me and Tristan. He said in a interview that he is not expecting that same Makwan what we have been seeing in my last fights. “We will see a hungry Amirkhani. Tristan you where right on that one brother and now I’m even more hungrier! I’m the flow. 30.10.2021 #ufc,” Amirkhani wrote on Instagram.
Makwan Amirkhani (16-6) is coming off a decision loss to Kamuela Kirk back in June in a fight Kirk took on short notice. Prior to that, he suffered a decision loss to Edson Barboza. He hasn’t won since UFC 251 last July where he submitted Danny Henry in the first round to get back into the win column after being knocked out by Shane Burgos. In his UFC career, he’s 6-4 with notable wins over Jason Knight and Chris Fishgold.
Tristan Connelly, meanwhile, was coming off a decision loss to Pat Sabatini in his return to the Octagon and a drop-down to featherweight. In his debut, he fought at welterweight and beat Michel Pereira by decision.
With Connelly out of his UFC 267 fight against Amirkhani, the card is as follows:
