Troy Williamson

Troy Williamson: “There’s a reason why none of these super welterweights want to fight me.”

Troy Williamson is ready for sucess. Sitting at 14-0 with 11 knockouts, Williamson is ready for his bout on the 15th. While he doesn’t have an opponent yet, his IBF European Super Welterweight title is on the line for whoever wants to take it.

Troy Williamson had his eyes on the Sam Eggington-Ted Cheeseman fight this past weekend, salivating over getting an opportunity to feast on either fighter. “Watching the Eggington-Cheesman fight made me realise I am a level above both,” said the hungry young prospect. “I would even fight them on the same day.”

He continued with his awesome quips, “I would have and egg for breakfast and cheese for lunch.” Williamson has had trouble getting opponents in the past and suspects to see that the rest of his career. Even though this is a roadblock, he will not give up on his quest of dominating the 154 pound division.

“There’s a reason why none of these super welterweights want to fight me. But I won’t be stopped. I will become World Champion.” The super welterweight division is stacked, too. There’s Jermell Charlo, Patrick Teixeira, and Jeison Rosario on top of the heap, having major belts to their name.

Troy Williamson, the Champion

Hailing from the UK, Williamson won his IBF European Super Welterweight title against Dario Socci in a tenth round knockout back in December of 2019. He returned to the ring quickly and knocked out Daniel Urbanski in the second back in February. Then COVID hit. Regardless of the delay, Williamson has been working and is looking to prove that he is one of the best in the division. His thirst for better competition follows him everywhere he goes.
