Aqib Fiaz Vs Kane Baker Pulled From Matchroom Fight Camp 2!

This evening, Matchroom Boxing announced that the highly anticipated lightweight scrap between Aqib Fiaz and Kane Baker has been pulled from the undercard of Fight Camp 2. The bout was set to kick off tomorrow night’s action, however, a recent social media post from Matchroom confirmed that the fight was off due to Fiaz falling ill. In a recently released interview with IFL TV, Baker stated that he does not believe Fiaz is unwell and that he has purposefully avoided the bout against himself. Fiaz missed weight at today’s weigh-in and according to Baker was giving off mixed signals, which spiked his suspicions.

Regardless of the fight falling through, Fight Camp 2 continues as a four-fight show with the action starting from 7:30 pm GMT on Sky Sports Main Event. Despite the loss, the undercard still looks outstanding, with Ivan ‘Hopey’ Price versus Jonny Phillips, Anthony Fowler versus Adam Harper and Chris Billam-Smith versus Nathan Thorley for the Commonwealth Cruiserweight title.

Tomorrow’s historic night of action is headlined by the first women’s World title fight to be contested between two British females, as Terri Harper looks to defend her WBC Super Featherweight belt against Natasha Jonas.

Plenty to look forward to and much more yet to come! MyMMANews extends it’s best wishes to Kane Baker at this difficult time and hopes to see him back in action again soon.
