Henry Miller, PRIDE FC veteran, dies at age 56

Former combat sports athlete Henry Miller, also known as “Sentoryu”, has died at age 56 after battling a “severe” lung disease according Japan-based outlet Chunichi Sports on Friday. Chris Sumo also reported the story on YouTube confirming the death of the former sumo wrestler, MMA fighter and kickboxing competitor.

Miller retired from pro sumo after the November 2003 tournament and decided to go into mixed martial arts and kickboxing.

Starting in April 2004 and competing until August 2013, Miller fought in 23 MMA bouts including contests for PRIDE FC, mostly in Japan, and going 6-16 with one no contest. Five of his wins came by knockout while the sixth came by submission.

He also dabbled in kickboxing, going 1-2 in three bouts between 2007 and 2010.
