A Domestic Showdown Between Ryan Shelley and Matt Elliott is set for Cage Warriors Belfast

A domestic showdown between undefeated prospects has been added to Cage Warriors 140. Irish featherweights Ryan Shelley (4-0) and Matt Elliott (2-0) are set to square off when the leading UK promotion returns to Belfast on Saturday, June 25.

Former striking world champion Shelley has demonstrated a well-round arsenal thus far in his pro career. The Whitehall native enters the bout fresh off the back of a 3rd-round TKO over the then undefeated UK prospect Magdi Gereev at CW 135 last month.

Matt Elliott boasts an accomplished array of grappling accolades including multiple British wrestling and judo gold medals. The Fight Academy Ireland fighter represented Great Britain at the Commonwealth Youth Games and Judo Championships. “BDE” will make his sophomore cage walk under the Cage Warriors promotional banner, having previously beaten Scott Pedersen at CW 120 in what was Elliott’s pro debut.

The Team KF vs Fight Academy Ireland matchup is an exciting clash of fighting styles and another sign that Cage Warriors appear to be stacking the Belfast card with Irish talent. Rhys McKee will vie for welterweight gold vs. Justin Burlinson at the top of the card. Ryan Shelley joins his older brother, Adam, who will face James Power on the card. Additionally, another domestic matchup between middleweights Paddy McCorry and Jordan O’Neill was previously added.

Cage Warriors 140 will take place on Saturday, June 25 at the SSE Arena in Belfast. Full card (to date):

Rhys McKee vs. Justin Burlinson – vacant welterweight title
Henry Fadipe vs. Carlo Pedersoli Jr – welterweight
Andy Young vs. Scott Malone – flyweight
Adam Shelley vs. James Power – lightweight
Paddy McCorry vs. Jordan O’Neill – middleweight
Ryan Shelley vs. Matt Elliott – featherweight
