Alexander Volkanovski committed to “old man” role, falls asleep at UFC 298 pre-fight press conference
If you missed Thursday night’s UFC 298 pre-fight press conference, you missed one for the ages. Committed to the role of the “old man,” UFC featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovski played the part perfectly.
The longtime reigning 145-pound kingpin mocked his opponent Ilia Topuria by falling asleep on stage, even having to be woken up by middleweight Paulo Costa.

Volkanovski, who released a skit on social media last week, continued his role in Anaheim by walking out slowly while dressed head-to-toe in the “old man” getup.
“Just having a bit of fun with it,” he said. “You’ve got to do it, for the people as well. Everyone appreciated the outfit, so I wanted to do it in person.”
