Capitan Petchyindee vs Hiroki Akimoto set for ONE X

Capitan Petchyindee vs Hiroki Akimoto goes at the ONE Championship ten-year anniversary show.

Capitan defends his ONE bantamweight kickboxing world championship on March 26th inside Singapore Indoor Stadium.

Akimoto looks to unseat the divisional kingpin from his throne as the champion aims to make the sophomore defense of his title belt.

Akimoto is riding a four-fight win streak heading into this title bid. He is ranked number two in the division but looks to oversee the contender hierarchy by snatching the strap here.

Hiroki Akimoto is a former WFKO Kyokushin Karate World Champion and also captured the WBC Muay Thai Japan Featherweight Championship. He began his career accruing a 19-0 record, has only tasted defeat once as a pro, and has rebounded with a winning streak since that March 2019 setback.

Akimoto’s last victory transpired in December of last year. He bested Qiu Jianliang and derailed a 16-fight win streak that ran for around half a decade in the process.

Capitan initially put himself onto the radars of ONE Super Series fans via a record-setting six-second KO. A performance that garnered him the nickname One Punch Man and shot him off on quite the trajectory thereafter.

He has just passed his one-year anniversary as champion when he defeated Alaverdi Ramazanov at ONE: Unbreakable in February 2021.

Capitan made the first successful defense of this bantamweight belt against Mehdi Zatout at ONE: Revolution in September 2021.

The multi-time Muay Thai world champion applies a lot of great principles from that pugilistic endeavor to his high rate of championship success within the ONE kickboxing ranks.

This is not the only kickboxing world title fight set for ONE X. There are also multiple title bouts within mixed martial arts and Muay Thai set for this stacked show.

What are your thoughts on Capitan vs Akimoto on ONE X?
