EFC 98 Djikasa vs Mbuyi Set To Feature 13 Fights

EFC 98 is officially two weeks away and, although the main event match-up between heavyweights Matunga Djikasa and Vandam Mbuyi is one of epic proportions, the rest of the card is stacked and could see major divisional changes within the promotion.

As per usual, the card features fighters that continue to forge their paths within the African MMA scene as well as those that will set foot inside the EFC hexagon for the first time. A late addition to the card will see British Boloyoang make his return to the hex, and he will be tasked with welcoming Khamzat Abaev, and that fight will serve as the feature prelim bout of the evening. Opening up the main card, Khulekani Hlongwa finds himself matched up against the returning Stefan Pretorius in a middleweight bout.

Moving up the card, Angola’s Aureo Cruz makes his pro debut against Amisi Kabeya, who looks to get a much-needed victory. Vince Bembe and Ashley ‘Padre’ Calvert will look to put the featherweight division in the spotlight. The co-main event of the evening will see Jaco du Plessis and Diego Bandu finally meet in the hex in a bout that could bring forth a middleweight title contender.

The main event will witness a new Heavyweight champion be crowned as Matunga Djikasa and Vandam Mbuyi clash for the vacant 265lb gold. This is a highly anticipated fight with the tension between the two being visible. With both fighters hailing from the DRC, it’s not just the gold on the line but also the status of being the African nation’s next champion. In just less than a week, it all goes down at EFC 98.
