Greg Hardy comments on fighting future following loss at UFC 272: “I have to reevaluate for sure”

UFC heavyweight Greg Hardy commented on his fighting future after losing on Saturday night at UFC 272, saying that “I have to reevaluate for sure.”

Hardy opened up the UFC 272 pay-per-view card against fellow heavyweight Serghei Spivac in a fight that very few expected to go the distance. Ineed, it didn’t take long for Spviac to grab Hardy and drag him to the mat, where he proceeded to pound him out and finish him via TKO. It was the third straight knockout loss for Hardy in the UFC, a loss that now has him thinking about what his future in MMA is.

Taking to his social media following his TKO loss to Spivac at UFC 272, Hardy apologized to his supporters for the loss, while taking full responsibility for the defeat and vowing to keep getting better.

“I’m ok first of all for those who wana know. No excuses, gotta get better. I don’t know what to do but say sorry. More coming for the prince of War just gotta get my sh*t together. Thank you to the @ufc and @danawhite for being in my corner. Thank you coaches and training partners and agents @firstroundmgmt . Everyone did their job accept for me. This one is on me and there are no excuses for me lacking. I refuse to die but I have to reevaluate for sure.” — Greg Hardy

Although Hardy did have a few decent knockout wins to start his UFC career, he has really struggled as he’s stepped up in competition, and Saturday at UFC 272 was a perfect example of that. Hardy has now lost three straight fights and that is usually a signal for the UFC to cut a fighter. Because of his big name, it’s possible Hardy gets one more fight in the UFC. But if he gets cut, it shouldn’t surprise anyone.

Do you want to see Greg Hardy fight in the UFC again?
