Report: Jake Paul vs Ben Askren set for boxing bout in March 2021

Jake Paul vs Ben Askren inside a boxing ring purportedly goes down in a few months. After Chael Sonnen dropped the initial news surrounding this bout, many were wondering how legitimate this bizarre fight actually is.

After all, Youtuber/ boxing newcomer vs acclaimed wrestler/ UFC veteran in the sweet science does read a tad unusually. Perhaps in an effort to maintain residual weirdness from 2020, Paul and Askren are genuinely going to be locking horns.

This would be the first time in over a year that Ben Askren will have publically competed in some form of a combat sport. Funky Ben took to his personal Twitter account to discuss this possible first quarter of 2021 prizefight.

This possible upcoming fight would mark the third debutant opponent of Paul’s boxing career with Askren making his first professional foray into the sweet science.

Jake Paul is now 2-0 as a professional boxer with knockouts in both of those outings. Paul’s last fight took place in the co-main event of the Mike Tyson vs Roy Jones Jr card. The Problem Child scored an emphatic knockout of NBA star Nate Robinson that went viral on social media thereafter.

Since that Robinson victory, the brash Jake Paul has been calling out a myriad of names within combat sports including Conor McGregor, Dillon Danis, and also Ben Askren.

Paul could end up facing by far the most experienced martial artist he has competed against up to this juncture.

Askren is coming back from his second MMA retirement following his Demian Maia defeat in October 2019. Ben Askren is a decorated amateur wrestler who ascended to the status of Olympian before jumping into mixed-martial arts.

Funky Ben has posted up a 19-2 MMA record overall. Askren captured welterweight titles in Bellator MMA and ONE Championship before embarking on his three-fight UFC run.
