On This Day in History for ONE Championship, we go back to January 25th, 2019 for ONE: Hero’s Ascent.

Present reigning ONE flyweight world champion Adriano Moraes found himself in yet another high-stakes title clash years back. He contended for Geje Eustaquio’s belt in the top of the marquee attraction for the evening.

Moraes versus Eustaquio was a trilogy clash for the division’s most coveted prize.

Mikinho emerged victorious from the tiebreaker bout via unanimous decision. As Adriano Moraes snatched the crown from Gravity; ending a competitive rivalry that took place over the better part of a five-year stretch.

In the ONE: Hero’s Ascent co-feature, Lowen Tynanes tested skills with Honorio Banario.

Tynanes pounded out the win in the waning seconds of the opening stanza. He moved to 10-0 as a pro from the multitude of grounded strikes generated.

Danny Kingad collided against Tatsumitsu Wada. The present-day number four ranked flyweight improved his record to 11-1 as Kingad bested Wada across all three judges’ scorecards in the UD verdict.

Rodtang Jitmuangnon took on Fahdi Khaled in a four-ounce gloves Muay Thai affair. The dominance of The Iron Man was evident at this point in time as well. Rodtang showcased his striking prowess en route to the unanimous decision victory.

Prior to his present-day situation reigning as the dual division champion in ONE at middleweight and light heavyweight, Reinier de Ridder was a contender on the rise.

The Dutch Knight collided with Fan Rong in de Ridder’s debut under the ONE Championship banner. RDR secured a sub-two-minute D’Arce choke in the first frame of the fight and kept his undefeated streak alive; one which still remains as of this writing.
