Trevor Peek talks victory over Khama Worthy and upcoming fight on DWCS
Trevor Peek has had a long journey to this point in his career.
In his personal life, Peek once struggled with addiction and one day he was able to get his life straighten out and turn to a life faith.
After getting clean, Peek would start spreading his favorite bible verse on his fight t-shirts Romans 8:37 which states “But in all these things we overwhelmingly conquer through Him who loved us.”
Not only has his message spread throughout his home state of Alabama, but his fighting career has also gotten a lot of recognition has well.
Peek is currently 5-0 in his professional career and his most recent victory has earned him a major opportunity.
A few weeks ago on Aug. 13, Peek took on former UFC fighter Khama Worthy and in the lead up to the fight, Peek contracted coronavirus and ended up with a lung infection.
Going into the fight, Peek knew he wouldn’t be able to go the distance due to his lung infection, so he made the decision that it was going to be all or nothing in the first round. That mentality ended paying off in a big way.
In the fight, Peek was able to get a massive knockout win in the final seconds of the opening round to not only earn the biggest win of his career, but he also earned a chance to make the UFC.
Just hours after beating Worthy, the UFC offered Peek a short notice fight on Sept. 13 on Dana White’s Contender Series and he accepted the fight against Malik Lewis.
Prior to the fight, Peek spoke with MyMMANews about his win over Worthy, his matchup with Lewis and his love for Romans 8:37.
