UFC on ESPN 4 Predictions – Rafael Dos Anjos vs. Leon Edwards
Saturday night, UFC on ESPN 4 will take place at the AT&T Center in San Antonio, Texas and will be headlined by (#4) Rafael dos Anjos and (#11) Leon Edwards in a bout that could place both men in contention for the Welterweight title eliminator in the division. The card also includes three fights in the Heavyweight division including the controversial former NFL defensive end Greg Hardy.
The prelims will begin at 6 PM ET followed by the main card at 9 PM ET, both aired on ESPN.
BELOW ARE PREDICTIONS FOR THE CARD:
(#4) Rafael dos Anjos vs. (#11) Leon Edwards
Rafael dos Anjos is back in the win column following a win over Welterweight newcomer Kevin Lee and looking to jump back into title contention with a win over Edwards. Dos Anjos’ only losses at Welterweight to date are to the current champion Kamaru Usman and the former interim Welterweight titleholder Colby Covington. Edwards is riding a seven-fight win streak with his last loss also coming from current champion Kamaru Usman. While Edwards resume is impressive as of late, it is hard to compare the quality of opponents to that of RDA. While Edwards will march forward and apply pressure, the volume of RDA’s striking will see RDA to victory. I see this as a highly competitive bout and eventually going to a close decision.
Pick: Rafael dos Anjos via Decision
(#15) James Vick vs. Dan Hooker
This is the fight of the card that few are talking about and is easily my favorite contest of the night. Vick remains in the top 15 in the Lightweight division but is coming off of back to back losses while Hooker is looking to crack the top 15 after a losing to Edson Barboza last December. Both men pose versatile skill sets and the fight will be interesting wherever it goes for as long as it lasts.
