Biniyam Shibre (2-0 AM) discusses his featherweight fight against Anthony Sipe (1-2 AM) at 559 Fights on Oct. 21. Biniyam also spoke about signing with Iridium Sports for representation, moving to Las Vegas to train at Syndicate MMA, and how Conor McGregor piqued his interest in the sport.
“Conor McGregor. That’s (who) I watched. He’s very active, his standup (is impressive). He makes me more interested in MMA. He makes me excited (to peruse MMA as a career) because I’m a world champion in Brazil. I get three gold (medals). I feel like I’m a world champion in Taekwondo and Kickboxing. But when I do jiu-jitsu, like MMA fighting, I feel like zero. Because when I roll, they choke me out. Because I don’t know anything about rolling or jiu-jitsu. But now I get it.”
Shibre and his partner, Ariela Weinberg, are also part of the current and ninth season of 90 Day Fiancé.
