Actor Tom Hardy wins gold at charity jiu jitsu tournament

Famed actor Tom Hardy has won yet another jiu jitsu tournament, this time at Reorg Open 2023 in Wolverhampton, England.

The Reorg Jiu-jitsu and Parajiu-jitsu championship is open to everyone with all abilities and disabilities levels, is raises money for a good cause.

Funds are donated to help those who helped us (military, veterans and emergency services who have serious, life-altering injuries or who are suffering from PTSD and depression). Hardy is the lead ambassador for the Royal Marines-backed charity.

An avid practitioner of Brazilian jiu-jitsu, Hardy has been seen training at Roger Gracie’s affiliate schools and with John Danaher. He holds the rank of blue belt and has won a number of jiu-jitsu competitions, with one such occurrence being at the UMAC Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Open Championships in September 2022.

Former UFC and Bellator MMA fighter Tom DeBlass, a lifelong jiu jitsu practitioner and instructor shared a clip of Hardy’s success on Instagram

“Congratulations on your 🥇today at the @reorgopen_bjj @tomhardy,” the post read. “I’m super proud of your dedication to Jiu-Jitsu. You are 100%, an example of someone who truly not only trains this martial art but lives by the code.

“See you in a few days in London 🇬🇧. 🙏🏻💙”

Hardy is known for his acting roles in films such as Venom, The Dark Knight Rises, Capone, Warrior, Mad Max: Fury Road, and more.
