Angela Lee likely not coming back to MMA after sister Victoria’s death

ONE Championship CEO, Chatri Sityodtong, doesn’t believe that one of his promotion’s biggest stars, Angela Lee, will return to mixed martial arts competition.

Angela’s younger sister Victoria Lee, 18, tragically passed away in December 2022.

Known as “The Prodigy,” Victoria Lee was the youngest fighter to sign to ONE Championship. She fought three times during the 2021 calendar year and finished all her fights in the first or second rounds. Their brother Christian is also one of ONE’s biggest draws.

“Angela Lee is likely not coming back due to the loss of her sister,” Sityodtong said in a Facebook Watch video. “Christian Lee told me that he wants to come back. Stamp [Fairtex] and Seo Hee Ham will fight in August for the ONE Atomweight championship.”

The official cause of Victoria’s death was never announced publicly although it is speculated that she took her own life.

“Unstoppable” Angela Lee, 26, is the ONE Atomweight World Champion and hold a pro MMA record of 11-3.

Christian Lee, 24, is the promotion’s lightweight and welterweight champion. According to a report from MMA Mania, Chatri told the news outlet that Christian will not return until 2024. As a result, interim titles will be put in place for both of Christian’s championships as well as Angela’s.
