Brandon Bohannon back for seconds at AOW 20 after impressive debut

Interview with Brandon Bohannon above

Art of War Cage Fighting has been hosting mixed martial arts events in Pennsylvania since 2017.  Mike and Debb Bickings have done a wonderful job of providing a forum for fighters to showcase their skills as well as making sure that the fans enjoy themselves.   Mike puts more time and energy into his fighters as anyone that I’ve come across in my 15+ years covering the sport.

Bickings and his team puts that energy and creative mind back to work for AOW 20 on Mischief Night on October 30th at The Sportsplex in Feasterville, PA.  The fight card put together by matchmaker Jillian Peterson looks like an interesting and exciting night.

In the main event, Matt “White Chocolate” Turnbull goes to battle with Eddie “the Panamaniac” Alvarez in a match-up that will definitely have the fans out of their seats.  In the co-main event, Duane “Crispy” Shields makes his professional debut after three consecutive wins in the amateur ranks and 7 total contests.  It’s a Philly vs Philly tussle as he welcomes Vinny Oristaglio (0-1) to the cage.

MyMMANews will be on hand for live results and I will be calling the action from cageside alongside Eugene “the Suitcase Kid” Aubry.  Fight week has arrived and we will be bringing you some pre-fight interviews from some of the fighters scheduled to go to work.

On a visit to Northeast Philadelphia’s Martinez BJJ, we got to chat with Brandon Bohannon for the first time.  Back at AOW 18 in May, Bohannon made his fighting debut and he was very impressive. His poise and his footwork looked much more seasoned than his records show. He told us…

“I have been training jiu-jitsu since I was twelve and I’m nineteen now, so about seven years I have been working at it and we just felt it was time. The crazy thing is heading into that first fight, we were going to try to use a lot of wrestling and then coach Will seen my opponent and we just adapted on the fly and were able to get the job done.”

Please check out our interview on the link above.  Bohannon is very highly thought of from the veterans at Martinez Fight Team and looks to have a very bright future.  We will be bringing you his round by round action right here on October 30th.
