Most everyone is already speculating a Conor McGregor vs. Jose Aldo UFC featherweight title fight as if to look past the dangerous German and Russian striker, Dennis Siver.
The betting bookies tend to think the same thing with sites such as sports.Bovada.lv opening McGregor an 8:1 favorite, and BestFightOdds.com going as far as 10:1 for McGregor.
For those of you who don’t know what this means, for example:
If you take $100 and place a bet on Denis Siver, you could win $650 if Siver wins. In order to win $100 on McGregor, however, you would need to lay down $1000. These are the type of bets where you are better off dropping money on the underdog and hoping for a huge upset. In this game anything can happen and that is why it is called gambling, you are assuming the risk.
McGregor vs. Siver is still a month away (January 3, 2015), so it will be interesting to see if the betting gap narrows, depending on how many take the underdog in Siver. There are plenty of betting sites out there, just be safe and check the laws on sports gambling on where you live.
