Grappling & Fighting Championships “GFC” Set to Make History with First Caged Muay Thai Event in PA

First caged muay thai event in Keystone state

Grappling & Fighting Championships (GFC) has announced a groundbreaking moment for Muay Thai in Pennsylvania. After working closely with the PA Athletic Commission and Ed Kunkle, GFC President Ryan Gruhn has successfully led the effort to approve mixed events (MMA & Muay Thai) in the cage for the state of Pennsylvania.

This historic milestone will be marked with GFC 8, taking place on June 16th at the Ramada Hotel & Conference Center in State College, PA. The event will feature 14 exciting bouts, showcasing a range of combat styles in the cage.

“We’re thrilled to bring this new format to Pennsylvania,” said Ryan Gruhn, GFC President. “Our goal is to unify the event and provide a platform for fighters to showcase their skills in a cage.”

Elise Pone, GFC General Manager and a professional MMA and Muay Thai fighter, added, “Fighting in a cage simplifies our setup and allows us to showcase all styles of combat to the community. We’re excited to bring this experience to the fans.”
