Houston Alexander returns to action the weekend at 50 years old

Houston “The Assassin” Alexander will make his 37th professional walk this weekend at Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship’s Fight Night Omaha event.

In a recent interview with John Morgan, the legend of the mid-west told Morgan how he feels about the upcoming bout:

“It feels just like how I first started for me. I just get anxious, I don’t get nervous, I don’t get antsy, I’m just ready to go.”

At 50 years of age, Alexander has competed in the largest combat sports organizations in the world. From 2007 to 2009, Alexander was a part of the UFC roster going up against guys like Keith Jardine, James Irvin, and Kimbo Slice. He spent a few years under the Bellator banner, where he defeated Matt Udhe. Not to mention his stints with Extreme Challange, VFC, KSW, or MMA Fight Pit, and Xtreme Fight Night where he took on Joey Beltran.

The man has really done it all and has been in there with some of the best. It’s not over for Alexander either, as he tells Morgan that he’s just not quite ready to completely hang it up.

“I just didn’t get hurt so right now I’m able to compete still at a high level, and why not. Why not do it?”

“Until I am no longer able to maintain at a high level, you know, I’ll hang it up then.”

This come’s before his second walk to BKFC’s squared circle, which he will make this Friday for BKFC Fight Night: Omaha.

Alexander (17-16-1, 2 NC) made his walk under the BKFC banner back in September of 2021 when he defeated Wes Combs in just 34 seconds of the first round.
