IMMAF announces Tentative 2021 Schedule

The IMMAF has announced their provisional Championships schedule for the 2021 year. The promotion, which is focusing on amateur MMA and getting the sport into the Olympics, looks to gain lost time from the 2020 year due to the pandemic.

The year kicks off in June of next year with the Asian Open for seniors and juniors. The event will take place from June 27th to July 4th

and will feature the best amateur Asian MMA fighters in a bid for the World Championships at the end of the year.

IMMAF President, Kerrith Brown, says that the return to competition for the IMMAF is welcome and important for the organization’s Olympic goals for 2024 and beyond.

“We are determined to reinvigorate international amateur MMA competition in 2021 by returning with a full calendar and providing opportunities to IMMAF athletes across all continents. We understand that national federations and teams need time to prepare, and moreover the return of competition to look forward to, and so as the year draws to a close, we are pleased to share positive news of events to get excited about for 2021. The Events Team is working hard to finalise outstanding details.”

The IMMAF has produced great talent already and seeing their fighters rise quickly throughout the professional ranks is a testament to the organization. You can see fighters like Muhammad Mokaev, Jose Torres, Brendan Allen, and Jack Shore all from the promotion being top tier prospects at the higher ranks.
