Jake Shields injured, out of fight with Jon Fitch

By now you know the drill, fighter pulls off card due to injury or citing personal reasons, next fighter steps up, and again the card is changed due to the injury bug.

Thus is the case with the World Series of Fighting 11 card scheduled for July 5.

The original bout was to be submission specialist Rousimar Palhares vs. Jon Fitch, but when Palhares pulled out, a window of opportunity opened up for Jake Shields, the most recent of the three fighters to be cut from the UFC.

Now with both Palhares and Shields off the card Fitch is temporarily left without an opponent.

WSOF 11 is headlined by a lightweight title fight between Nick Newell and champion Justin Gaethje.
