Kamaru Usman

Michael Bisping pleads Kamaru Usman to beat up Colby Covington

Kamaru Usman is a streaking welterweight contender. He just defeated Rafael Dos Anjos rather easily last night and made his case to get the next title shot. However, it appears former UFC interim welterweight champion Colby Covington will be getting that shot against Tyron Woodley.

Ultimately, even if Covington does indeed get the title shot first, it should be expected Usman and ‘Chaos’ will fight each other soon. With that, former UFC middleweight champion, Michael Bisping has a request for Usman. Speaking on the FOX broadcast to Usman he wants ‘The Nigerian Nightmare’ to beat Covington up a little more than usual. That is something, Usman believes he will do.

“Don’t worry Mike, I got you.” Kamaru Usman responded. “I’ll give him some good shots and I’ll let him know, ‘That one’s for Mike. That one’s for Ken-Flo. That one’s for Rogan. And that one’s for everybody who watches UFC.’”

Covington is a fighter many people either hate or love. He is a trash-talking machine, who has said numerous times he will end Woodley’s career when they fight. But it appears after Usman’s dominating win, UFC President Dana White may have other plans.

“It was a great fight,” said Dana White of last night’s TUF 28 Finale main event. “Covington is obviously there. But I’m one of these guys man, I always like – if you just fought and are coming off a dominant performance against a stud, like ‘RDA’, I’m looking at you. Covington hasn’t fought in a while. He got injured. He didn’t defend his title. You know, all that stuff. Listen, in one fight Usman, look I used to talk a lot of smack about Usman. But in one fight this guy turned me around. And now that makes me excited to see the Woodley fight.”

No matter who he fights between Covington and Usman, Woodley will have his hands full. One thing is known for sure, is that Usman will complete Bisping’s request to beat up Covington.
