Karate Icon Rafael Aghayev Signs With Karate Combat For Upcoming Season

Azerbaijan Olympic legend Rafael Aghayev has re-signed an exclusive deal with Karate Combat. The promotion announced today that the Olympic silver medalist is returning to the promotion in a new fight deal which marks yet another Olympic knab for Adam Kovacs and company. Aghayev won silver at the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games at 75 kilograms. In addition to that, he’s taken home gold in the Kumite World Champions in 2006, 08, the 08 Kumite Open, 2010, and 2016. He’s also taken home multiple silver and bronze medals at the World level as well.

Rafael Aghayev is one of the best strikers on the planet, as seen in his accomplishments below. He fought for Karate Combat in 2018 when he took on Dionicio Gustavo and won via decision, as you can watch below. Now, he signs a new deal with the promotion to further the sport of karate through Karate Combat.

Karate Combat has been on a tear when it comes to new signings. Most recently, the promotion added the likes of former Glory Kickboxer, Gabriel Varga, who we did a dive into the career of shortly there after. At the same time, Olympic bronze medalist, Dastonbek Otabolyaev, signed with the promotion as well, who incidentally looks up to Aghayev.

Karate Combat is working on building a roster of fighters to it’s unique platform. A full contact karate promotion, Karate Combat gives fans the standup action they are craving while taking them to futuristic, past, and exotic places in post production. The product is unique and bringing in the high level strikers like Varga, Otabolyaev, and Rafael Aghayev will only improve the product. The better the fights, the more eyes.
