Klaudia Syguła Looks to Continue UFC Rise Against Nora Cornolle at UFC Paris
Klaudia Syguła’s UFC journey has already included adversity, redemption and two consecutive victories. Now, the Polish bantamweight has the opportunity to take another major step forward when she returns to the Octagon this weekend at UFC Paris.
Syguła will face France’s Nora Cornolle in a women’s bantamweight matchup on Saturday, September 5, at Accor Arena in Paris. The bout gives Syguła a chance to make an impression in front of a hostile home crowd while continuing to build momentum in one of the UFC’s most competitive divisions.
A UFC Debut She Would Like to Forget
Syguła entered the UFC in November 2024 after establishing herself as a promising prospect on the European MMA scene. She had begun training Brazilian jiu-jitsu at just 14 years old and eventually developed into a professional mixed martial artist. Before joining the UFC, she accumulated amateur accolades and built a professional record that earned her a place on the world’s biggest MMA stage.
Her UFC debut, however, did not go according to plan.
Syguła faced Melissa Mullins at UFC APEX on November 9, 2024, and suffered a second-round TKO stoppage at 1:20 of the round. It was the first loss of her professional career and dropped her record to 6-2 at the time.
Rather than allowing the setback to derail her UFC opportunity, Syguła used it as a learning experience.
Syguła Bounces Back in Baku
Seven months later, Syguła returned to action in Azerbaijan for UFC Baku, where she was matched with Irina Alekseeva.
The Polish fighter delivered a composed performance, controlling the fight over three rounds and earning a unanimous decision. All three judges scored the bout 30-27 in her favor, giving Syguła her first UFC victory.
The victory was particularly important because it demonstrated that Syguła could rebound from adversity and compete effectively against another established UFC bantamweight.
It also moved her professional record to 7-2.
Another Victory Against a Veteran
Syguła’s next opportunity came in February 2026 against veteran Brazilian fighter Priscila Cachoeira.
Once again, Syguła went the distance, displaying the patience and technical discipline that have become increasingly evident during her UFC run. After three rounds, she was awarded another unanimous decision victory, giving her consecutive UFC wins and bringing her professional record to 8-2.
With the victory over Cachoeira, Syguła had effectively put her difficult UFC debut behind her. Her UFC record now stands at 2-1, with both victories coming by unanimous decision.
A New Challenge in Paris
Now comes perhaps the most intriguing chapter of Syguła’s young UFC career.
Standing across from her at UFC Paris will be Nora Cornolle, a French bantamweight who will have the advantage of fighting in front of her home fans. The matchup is particularly interesting because Cornolle is coming off two consecutive defeats and will be looking to reverse her fortunes on home soil, while Syguła enters the contest riding a two-fight UFC winning streak.
That creates a compelling crossroads fight.
For Cornolle, victory could provide a much-needed reset. For Syguła, another win could elevate her from promising UFC newcomer to a legitimate name to watch in the women’s 135-pound division.
At 27 years old, 5-foot-8 and possessing a 69-inch reach, Syguła has plenty of physical tools to continue developing. The UFC lists her as having two professional knockout victories and one submission victory, although her first two UFC wins have come on the judges’ scorecards.
The Next Step
Syguła’s UFC story is still in its early stages, but the trajectory is encouraging.
She arrived in the promotion with an undefeated professional record, experienced the disappointment of losing her debut, and then responded with back-to-back victories. That ability to recover may ultimately prove just as important as her physical skills as she attempts to climb the bantamweight rankings.
UFC Paris presents another opportunity.
A victory over Cornolle would give Syguła three straight UFC wins and further establish her as one of Poland’s fighters to watch in the women’s division. A strong performance could also put her on the radar for increasingly difficult opposition as she looks to make the jump from prospect to contender.
For now, though, the task is simple: travel to Paris, step into the Octagon and continue the climb.
