Brian Ortega lands a shot on The Korean Zombie in the main event of UFC Fight Island 6. Ortega won the fight by unanimous decision.

Matchmaker Monday following UFC Fight Island 6

UFC Fight Island 6 was a big night for Brian Ortega and Jessica Andrade.

Ortega fought for the first time in 22 months and it looked like he didn’t miss a beat as he won all five rounds over “The Korean Zombie.”

Andrade made history in her first-round TKO victory over Katlyn Chookagian. The win made Andrade the first woman in UFC history to win fights in three different weight classes.

Now let’s find out what’s next for these fighters on this Matchmaker Monday.

Brian Ortega
Result: defeated “The Korean Zombie” by unanimous decision at UFC Fight Island 6
Next: Alexander Volkanovski

These breakdowns are so easy and require no explanation.

UFC president Dana White said earlier last week that the winner of last Saturday’s main event was next in line for Volkanovski. Ortega won the fight so there you go.

If you’re looking for a sleeper insert Max Holloway. Ortega still remembers what happened to him back at UFC 231 when Holloway steamrolled him. He wants a chance to avenge the only loss on his record.

Chan Sung Jung “The Korean Zombie”
Result: lost to Brian Ortega at UFC Fight Island 6
Next: Calvin Kattar

Tough loss for Zombie. Luckily he shouldn’t have to do too much to get himself back into title contention.

I’m going with Calvin Kattar has a future matchup because Kattar deserves a top guy and Zombie fits that bill. They are also ranked close by to one another in the rankings.

Now you can throw either one of these guys against Zabit Magomedsharipov and nobody would complain so keep that in mind. I however want to see Magomedsharipov and Yair Rodriguez finally fight so I’ll just leave that on the table for the time being.

Jessica Andrade
Result: defeated Katlyn Chookagian by first-round TKO at UFC Fight Island 6
Next: Cynthia Calvillo

Jessica Andrade
<em><strong>Jessica Andrade celebrates after defeating Katlyn Chookagian at UFC Fight Island 6<strong><em>

Andrade wants a title shot. So does Calvillo. Both are deserving so let the two figure it out in a possible title elimination fight.

The reason why I said possible is because Lauren Murphy fights this weekends and it was supposed to be against Calvillo until Calvillo caught coronavirus. It’s hard to deny Murphy a title shot if she wins.

If Andrade is next in line, then Murphy and Calvillo will have to fight each other. It’s between these three for a title fight so whatever two fighters didn’t get the title fight will have to meet in a title elimination.

Katlyn Chookagian
Result: lost to Jessica Andrade by first-round TKO
Next: Jennifer Maia (if she loses to Valentina Shevchenko)

I don’t think Chookagian really loses any stock here. Andrade is a savage and she was excepted to come in and being a wrecking ball at flyweight.

So now Chookagian is still going fight a top ranked opponent in her next fight and I’m going to pencil in Maia here.

If Maia upsets Valentina Shevchenko then they’ll have a rematch, but if she loses then I can see a future bout with Chookagian.

Now Maia and Chookagian have already fought and Chookagian won their first meeting. Chookagian is at the point now where she’s going to be recycling through opponents so Maia will be next.
