Ryan Garcia Set to Return on April 9th

Ryan Garcia and Jake Paul Announce their Next Bouts

Boxing sensations Ryan Garcia and Jake Paul both announced the dates for their return yesterday.

In an interview with iFL TV, Garcia said “life is good, it’s moving along. My fight, my next fight’s July 16th. So, I already have another fight.”

“You guys are gonna love this one, it’s hype, got everything to it,” Garcia continued.

Garcia (22-0-0, 18 KOs) is coming off two spectacular performances against Luke Campbell and Emmanuel Tagoe. The 23-year-old scored a TKO against Campbell in January of 2021 and most recently defeated Tagoe via unanimous decision less than a month ago.

It is yet to be announced who Garcia will face on July 16th. Originally, there were talks about Garcia taking on Gervonta Davis, George Kambosos Jr., or Teofimo Lopez Jr. next.

By the looks of it, however, Garcia may be slated to meet someone else in the ring. It is most likely that Garcia will meet Issac Cruz (23-2-1, 16 KOs) come July 16th.

Jake Paul, on the other hand, announced on Sunday that he will be back in the ring on August 13th.

Following his YouTube career, the 25-year-old entered the world of boxing and has collected victories over the likes of MMA veterans Ben Askren and Tyron Woodley.

Without an announced opponent, there is speculation as to who he will be stepping in the ring against. He has recently had feuds with former UFC double champion Conor McGregor, and UFC welterweight contender Jorge Masvidal. However, with UFC president Dana White’s unwillingness to co-promote it is likely it will not be someone under the UFC banner.

Michael Bisping (30-9-0) has also been a target for Paul recently. Given that the two were originally rumored to meet in 2021, Bisping might just be a front runner for Paul’s return.

Another name in the mix is undefeated light heavyweight Tommy Fury (7-0-0), who recently called out Paul saying “get the contract signed you bum!”

Other possible opponents could be former UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva who began boxing again last year, or former heavyweight boxing king Mike Tyson.

As Garcia and Paul’s bouts draw nearer, we will keep you updated here at MyMMANews with everything you need to know.

Who would you like to see these two go up against next?
