Triple-champ Valerie Wong talks High Rollerz: Ladies Night

Valerie Wong full interview above

Jiu-Jitsu is indeed a multifaceted, wormhole of martial art. For every attack, there are several counterattacks or variations to flip the script. This is exactly why a legit BJJ academy is very specific in carefully choosing students they promote to the next belt.

Valerie Wong has been an active BJJ competitor and professional mixed martial artist for quite some time. Earning her a brown belt in Jiu-Jitsu, only a single step/belt away from achieving her black belt, the highest of belts achievable (outside of the minimal legacy red belts, such as Rorian Gracie).

Wong’s athleticism is fierce and her desire to win burns larger when she puts her skills to the test, being a 3x winner and current High Rollerz brown belt champion.

“The events they put on are amazing,” Wong says. “What they’re doing for the cannabis industry and combining us with athletes and also for athletes to be supported by dispensaries is really cool,” she elaborates.  Expressing how much she enjoys the camaraderie between the athletes, Wong says High Rollerz is “Making it (cannabis usage) more athletic”.  Continuing discussing the vibe, she mimics, “Hey! Let’s do the sport that we love to do while smoking cannabis, and it’s such a good time!”

High Rollerz blasted on the Jiu-Jitsu and martial arts scene in 2018 with their brand new approach for high-level grapplers. Opting to utilize the very therapeutic remedies a large amount of Jiu-Jitsu practitioners daily use for rest and recovery…Cannabis and music!

With that concoction, “Big Lonn” Howard and “Mighty” Matt Staudt launched an epicenter for grapplers to relax, compete, and get paid in a stress-free event. With that, the rest is history being written at this very moment.

“They’re just (High Rollerz) just rolling them out,” she says.  “They have shows every few months so hopefully, I’ll be getting on High Rollerz as much as I can!”

Tune in as Valerie Wong checks in with MyMMArijuanaChronicles via MyMMANews to catch up on her experiences under High Rollerz, what it’s like being a 3x High Rollerz champ, why she utilizes cannabis for recovery and so much more!
