AKA 29 Set For Dynamic Summer Show

Continuing to remain one of the hottest regional shows in the nation, American Kombat Alliance is set for AKA 29, which will take place July 07, 2023. The event will take place at the Sams Town Casino in Shreveport, Louisiana.

AKA 29 will air live on FiteTV. The card currently consists of 13 bouts ranging from grappling, kickboxing, and MMA.

Main Event

AKA 29’s main event will consist of a kickboxing matchup between Juan Chavana and Blake Franklin. Chavana is no stranger to the AKA cage, making his organizational debut all the way back at Rite of Passage 8 in 2019 as a mixed martial artist. With a wealth of experience in the combat sports realm, striking has always been his fallback. “Striking is my first martial art I spent a lot of time focusing on my stand-up primarily before grappling. I am very comfortable on my feet. I’ve done kickboxing smokers but non-sanctioned,” Chavana stated. AKA 29 will provide a huge opportunity for Chavana in his first professional kickboxing bout.

Pro boxing….Pro MMA…Pro Kickboxing. Chavana’s opponent, Blake Franklin has done it all at the highest levels. Franklin’s first dabble into professional combat sports was a kickboxing bout in which he won by a first-round knockout. He would go on to have a professional boxing career that currently sits at 26 bouts. Similar to Chavana, striking is the backbone of his combat sports career. “Well, kickboxing is what I first started competing in when I was a kid. Then I transitioned into boxing, so kickboxing is my first love so to speak. So it’s good to kinda come back to my roots a little bit and have fun with it,” Franklin stated.

C0-Main Event

It’s not often you see a fighter make a return after a near nine-year layoff. Not only did Delanie Hall do that, but he was successful earning a first-round submission win at AKA 28. Hall returns for the next AKA event with the home crowd behind him yet again. For Hall, it was everything he could have expected. “It was amazing. Such a great feeling to come back after nine years, and come back into the fight game, the sport I love doing. Being able to compete against a good and tough opponent makes it look like I haven’t missed a beat. It felt great!” stated Hall.

Another big victory could put Hall in the thick of AKA title talks. After a return bout at welterweight, Hall’s goal is to return to the lightweight ranks and push for the championship. So what can fans expect in Hall’s return run at MMA? “They can expect it to be a war. I’m coming to give it my all and leave everything in that cage; no regrets; no disappointments, just me handling business,” stated Hall.
