Dennis Buzukja

Dennis Buzukja returns to Dana White’s Contender Series, will not be denied

Video interview with Dennis Buzukja above

Dennis ” the Great” Buzukja has a lot on his resume after just nine fights. In 2020, Buzukja got his chance at a UFC contract on Dana White’s Contender Series. It was a three round war that Dennis lost, but he was determined to return and chase his dreams to be a professional UFC fighter like several of his main training partners and best friends.  Buzukja didn’t sulk after his loss.  He got right back to work and has gone 3-0 as he defended his Ring of Combat featherweight championship twice and now has earned the return invitation on the opening week of 2022’s Dana White’s Contender Series taking place Tuesday night, July 26th.

MyMMANews caught up with Dennis as he was wrapping up camp and getting ready for fight week.  He tells us…

“It’s been a hard one.  A lot of work with Merab, a lot of work with Aljo, and Anthony Dilemme who is a great wrestler and just pushing, pushing, pushing, grinding wrestling, takedown defense, transitions and some of the things I need to do better from the last time I was here.”

You can see our interview on the link above.  Buzukja (7-2) and I talk about his matchup with Kaleio Romero (6-1) and if his previous experience with the show was of any benefit to him.

Buzukja is really appreciative and thankful for the support that he has gotten so far in his career from his fellow Albanians.  They have helped him be able to concentrate solely on fighting and Dennis promises you will see his best performance.

DWCS is starting season 6 and has ten events scheduled for 10 consecutive Tuesday nights starting July 26th.  All shows will start at 8pm ET and be streamed on ESPN+

You can stay right here at MyMMANews for fight results and to see who earns their first UFC contracts.
