Derrick Lewis vs. Serghei Spivac rebooked for upcoming UFC Fight Night main event

An exciting matchup between UFC heavyweight contenders Derrick Lewis and Serghei Spivac has been rebooked for an upcoming UFC Fight Night main event.

Lewis and Spivac were supposed to headline a UFC Fight Night card back in November, but the fight was scratched on the night of the battle when Lewis went down with an undisclosed ailment. Three months later and the two will finally meet. The UFC announced Thursday that Lewis and Spivac will be headlining a UFC Fight Night card set for February 4. This card was originally set to take place in South Korea, but that card was canceled after The Korean Zombie couldn’t headline it due to injury. Instead, this card featuring Lewis and Spivac will headline a UFC Fight Night card set to take place at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The first fight saw Spivac enter as the betting favorite, but there were many bettors who liked the Lewis side since he is the UFC’s all-time leader in knockout wins. It’s unlikely the odds will shift too much with the rebooking, so look for Spivac to once again be the betting favorite heading into this fight against Lewis.

Spivac (15-3) is coming off back-to-back stoppage wins over Augusto Sakai and Greg Hardy in his last two fights. Just 27 years of age, he is one of the youngest and most talented heavyweights in the UFC right now. He is still searching for that marquee win, and he is hoping to finish Lewis and get that big win on his resume.

Lewis (26-10, 1 NC) is coming off back-to-back knockout losses to Tai Tuivasa and Sergei Pavlovich in his last two fights. Now 37 years of age, Lewis is one of the hardest punchers in UFC history, but it remains to be seen if he still has what’s left in the tank in order to get past a talented young contender, such as Spivac.

Overall, it should be a fun main event, and one where fans will likely be treated to see a big knockout win.

Who do you think wins this heavyweight bout between Derrick Lewis and Serghei Spivac?
