Geje Eustaquio Takes Teammate Danny Kingad vs. Kairat Akhmetov
Former ONE Championship bantamweight champion Geje Eustaquio weighed in on the upcoming bout between Danny Kingad and Kairat Akhmetov. The bout takes place as your main event at ONE Championship: Winter Warriors II in the bantamweight division.
Geje Eustaquio Weighing In
Geje Eustaquio, who is a teammate of Kingad, knows what Akhmetov is in for at Winter Warriors II. He says that his skills as an athlete will be what puts him over the top in the upcoming main event.
“I believe Danny’s main advantage here is his athleticism. I think that’s where Danny will really move ahead. Aside from being younger and fresher, his strength and power are his advantages over Akhmetov.”
Also having shared the cage with Akhmetov twice, Geje Eustaquio knows what Kingad is in for as well. The two split a pair of decisions in 2017 and 2018 and Eustaquio speaks on the composure of his former foe.
“One thing that Akhmetov has is his confidence. Having faced him twice already, he has a different kind of confidence when he steps into the Circle, and I think that’s one advantage of his. When he’s really composed, he can really execute and get things his way. That’s what I noticed particularly in our first fight. Danny shouldn’t allow Akhmetov to gain confidence in this match. He should avoid letting that guy dictate and control the pace of the action.”
Geje Eustaquio goes on to make his pick for the upcoming fight:
“Danny has certainly been improving, and his biggest improvement came in terms of physical and skills. I believe he’s added a lot of things to his arsenal and because of that, he’s more confident to execute game plans now.”
“I believe this is going to be a war. They will stand toe-to-toe in striking and on the ground. I’m taking Danny by unanimous decision.”
