Jack Della Maddalena vs Ramazan Emeev slated for UFC 275

Jack Della Maddalena vs Ramazan Emeev slated for UFC 275

The UFC has recently added a very exciting, young welterweight talent to their roster, Jack Della Maddalena.

Following his Contender Series bout in September of 2021, which showed him victorious via unanimous decision, he’d make his UFC debut at UFC 270 opposing Pete Rodriguez, who he’d finish (TKO) in the very first round.

Now it seems the UFC is pushing him up the ladder quite quickly, as he’s booked against Ramazan Emeev next.

This bout is to go down at UFC 276 on June 11, 2022, at the Singapore Indoor Stadium in Kallang, Singapore.

Emeev is a tough test for just about anyone in the division.

Coming over as a multi-time M-1 Global middleweight champion, as the last man to defeat top Bellator contender Anatoly Tokov (30-2), Emeev would go 5-1 through his first six bouts with the promotion, en route to his split decision defeat to Danny Roberts last October.

Maddalena also came over as a title holder, himself having captured the EMMA welterweight championship prior to joining the UFC. His career started off a bit rocky, suffering two-straight defeats following a successful amateur tenure.

Nonetheless, Maddalena filled in the gaps and has since won his last 11-straight bouts, securing finishes in all but one of those wins, including nine knockouts. Now he goes into this fight with a record of 11-2.

Going from fighting a 7-1 opponent on the Contender Series, to fighting a 4-0 opponent in his UFC debut, to fighting Ramazan Emeev, who’s 21-5 as a professional, this is a big, big step up for the Australian.

But, this is where we’ll see him get tested, and this is where we see if he truly is ready for the big show.

Emeev doesn’t really stand out in any area, but he is very good at everything. He has good wrestling, great control, and good striking as well. All we’ve really seen out of Maddalena thus far is his crisp boxing, which has shown to be incredibly effective.

Who do you see coming out of this welterweight encounter on top?

I became a fan of combat sports when I was 12 years old. I was scrolling through the channels and landed upon Versus, where WEC was televised. Urijah Faber fought Jens Pulver for the second time that night. That's the first fight I ever saw, and I was immediately hooked. So eventually, I began covering the sport in the fourth quarter of 2018, and have since started writing about animals as well.
