Jan Blachowicz, UFC 267 preview

Jan Blachowicz says Dominick Reyes ‘had his chance’ against Jon Jones so it’s now his turn

Jan Blachowicz expects to get the next title shot against Jon Jones as he says Dominick Reyes has had his shot.

Following UFC 247 where Jones beat Reyes by unanimous decision, many thought an immediate rematch would be next, especially given the fact many thought the challenger won. Yet, following Blachowicz’s huge knockout win over Corey Anderson at UFC Rio Rancho, who “Bones” next title defense is up in the air.

For Blachowicz, he says he deserves the shot given Reyes already fought Jones and lost.

“It’s my turn,” Blachowicz told MMA Fighting. “Thiago [Santos] had his chance. Dominick had his chance. Now it’s my turn. Now I’m next in line. I should be the next contender for the title shot and I will be. I believe in that.

“They had their chance but they don’t use it. I’m going to use it, I’m going to win. I’m going to be the guy that beats Jon Jones.”

If Jan Blachowicz does get the next shot at Jon Jones, he is confident he will get his hand raised. He knows he has the skillset and Bones won’t be able to break him.

“I wait for this all my life,” Blachowicz said. “I have a lot of travel in my UFC [career], I was down, now I’m back on the top. I’m ready mentally and physically. All my body is ready for Jon Jones. He cannot break me. I will break him.

“I’m a hard matchup for everyone in the world. I believe in my skills. I know that I can be the best in the world. It’s going to be a tough fight for him. Also for me, I know that, but still, I want to do this and still I believe I can beat him.”

In the end, Jan Blachowicz is confident he will be next in line for Jon Jones and says he will shock the world and dethrone the champ.
