John Castaneda, UFC Louisville

John Castaneda taking a selective approach to his career ahead of June 8th fight

Interview with John Castaneda below

John Castaneda (21-6) discusses his bantamweight fight against Daniel Marcos (15-0) at UFC Louisville on June 8. John also spoke about how this fight came together, his training camp and why he’s making smarter choices with his fight career.

“I got offered a fight earlier this year … but I feel like I’m at point where I have to pick and choose and be a little bit more strategic with who I’m fighting. Especially if I want to keep advancing in through the bantamweight division. I got a guy, who was a debut guy, I forget his name, I wish I remember. I turned it down because it didn’t make sense for me. Fighting a debut guy, if I’m supposed to beat him. If I lose to him, then I have way more to lose. I said I’m going to wait for something a bit tougher, so I had to wait an extra few months. Turned around and got Marcos which is perfect. It was exactly what I’m looking for.”
