Johnny Eblen Calls Out Aaron Jeffery After Bellator 299

Johnny Eblen continues his reign as the Bellator MMA middleweight champion. He moved to 14-0 after defeating Fabian Edwards at Bellator 299 in Dublin and it seems he is using the Bellator MMA rankings as his personal hit list. After his win, he addressed the exchange between him and Leon Edwards, his future with Bellator, and who he sees challenging for the title next.

Eblen lived up to his nickname “The Human Cheat Code” when he finished Fabian Edwards in round three, solidifying himself as one of the best middleweights in mixed martial arts. However, Edwards’ brother, UFC welterweight champion Leon seemed to take umbrage with Eblen’s post-fight celebration. Eblen told the media afterward, it was all just being caught up in the moment.

“A lot of emotions,” Eblen said when asked about the exchange between him and Leon Edwards. “I went over after and I told him, ‘ Hey man, sorry my emotions were high,’ and I squashed the beef.”

Eblen added that he has no ill feelings towards Leon and said he would like to face him in the future should he move up in weight. With the future of Bellator being in question lately, Eblen addressed that as well.

“I don’t give a <expletive>. I’m here to fight. I will be employed regardless of where I’m at. I’m a trained killer.  I  can put people out, I can go five rounds, I’m the full package. So, whoever wants to employ me I’ll fight for them.”

For now, Eblen is still employed by and is still Bellator MMA’s middleweight champion so when looking ahead at opponents, Eblen just said, “Aaron Jeffries [sic] (Jeffery) you can get these hands.”

Rankings update every Tuesday after a Bellator MMA event, currently, Jeffery is ranked number four in the rankings with Anatoly Tokov, Gegard Mousasi, and Edwards ranked above him. Eblen has wins over those fighters so Jeffery certainly makes the most sense.
