KSW to debut in the Czech Republic in February

KSW is officially coming to the Czech Republic as KSW 79 will take place February 25 from the Home Credit Arena in Liberec.

This will mark KSW’s first international event since 2019 and will act as the catalyst for Europe’s largest MMA promotion to restart the live show European expansion that was paused due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The Czech Republic is the first of several new territories KSW will enter throughout 2023 & 2024.

Record breaking heavyweight champion Phil De Fries (22-6-1) defends his title in the main event of KSW 79 while former Glory heavyweight & Polish star Arek Wrzosek (1-0) will look to build on an incredible run which saw him beat Badr Hari and win his MMA debut in KSW last year.
The Czech Republic’s very own Viktor Pesta (18-8) will also make his promotional debut in his home country. The 32-year-old PFL & UFC veteran and jumps back up to heavyweight and will look to immediately put himself in the mix for potential title contention.

All three fighters’ respective opponents will be revealed in the coming days.

Since its first international event in 2015, KSW has held very successful shows in Ireland, Croatia, and the UK three times. Now the Czech Republic will be the fifth territory the promotion has entered.

While KSW’s live events have been limited recently to Poland, the promotion have expanded in other ways with a major broadcast deal with Viaplay across eleven European markets in addition to adding a whole host of international talent to the roster and increasing to twelve events per year.
