Mike Breeden discusses his first career UFC win at UFC 294

Mike Breeden has been waiting for his first career UFC win for some time now and finally at UFC 294, Breeden got to celebrate a UFC victory.

For many fighters, if they were in Breeden’s shoes, they would have been stressed out and nervous for their fight as UFC 294 marked the final fight on his UFC contract and he was in a must win situation since he lost his first three UFC fights.

Breeden isn’t built like other fighters, so for him he was calm, cool and collected and knew that he despite the result of his last three fights, he did a lot of things right and he knew he’d be able to put on a show for the fans.

A few days prior to fight night, Breeden did suffer a staph infection and he also came into the fight with a cut above his eye. Again, that’s not ideal for most fighters, but Breeden isn’t like the others as he didn’t let any of that factor into his fight.

On fight night, Breeden put on an absolute show as he came to scrap.

Interview with Mike Breeden below

Every time his opponent, Anshul Jubli, would turn punches in volume, Breedan would counter with heavy shots that were meant to end the fight.

Finally in round three, the fight would be stopped. Breeden was talking smack and landing bombs the whole round before the referee saw enough and waved off the fight.

Breeden was emotional afterwards and he admits that once he landed in the United States that he was crying like a baby as things really snuck in.

Now Breeden is enjoying the moment and he’s planning on building on his moment from this fight in 2024. He also hopes to resign with the UFC and right now his management is in negations with the promotion.

Following UFC 294, Breeden spoke with MyMMANews to discuss his first career UFC win, some of the issues in the lead up to the fight and his plans for next year.
