Nikita Krylov unloads on and finishes Alexander Gustafsson early at UFC London

The Ultimate Fighting Championship returns to us today, July 23, 2022, for UFC Fight Night 208, going down live from the o2 Arena in London, England.

Headlining the event is a heavyweight clash of contenders between no. 4 Curtis Blaydes (16-3) and no. 6 Tom Aspinall (12-2), and co-headlining is a middleweight contest between Jack Hermansson (22-7) and Chris Curtis (29-8).

Our first feature fight of the night came in the light-heavyweight division between Nikita Krylov (27-9) and former three-time title challenger, one of the best fighters ever to have never won a belt, Alexander Gustafsson (18-7).

Official Result: Nikita Krylov def. Alexander Gustafsson via TKO (punches) at 1:07 of round one

Gustafsson lands a nice counter right as the fight begins, but Krylov drops him with a nasty overhand right.

Gustafsson is back to his feet quickly, but the storm doesn’t stop there.

Krylov absolutely swarms him, landing vicious punches, kicks, and knees to ‘The Mauler’. He’s not giving him a second to breathe, and a whole lot to endure.

Gustafsson tries to recover by tying up, and he has a hold of a single leg. However, Krylov lands a left hook to the open face of the Swede and drops him again, finishing him just a couple of follow up punches later.

Many of us were hopeful when we heard Alexander Gustafsson was returning, but Nikita Krylov is a dangerous man.

Krylov is now 28-9 as a professional, and that’s his 27th finish.

I became a fan of combat sports when I was 12 years old. I was scrolling through the channels and landed upon Versus, where WEC was televised. Urijah Faber fought Jens Pulver for the second time that night. That's the first fight I ever saw, and I was immediately hooked. So eventually, I began covering the sport in the fourth quarter of 2018, and have since started writing about animals as well.
