Officially confirmed: Jake Paul vs Tommy Fury on February 26th

One of the most talked about fights of the year will take place this week at the Diriyah Arena in Diriya (Saudi Arabia). Jake Paul from the USA and Tommy Fury from the UK will fight in the heavyweight limit. In his TikTok account, where he has over 17 million followers, Jake posted “Watch me fight Tommy Fury Sunday Feb 26th”.

The Paul-Fury fight was supposed to take place back in 2021, but Fury had an injury. For the second time (last summer), the fight had to be postponed again because of Fury as visa problems prevented him from flying to the US.

Titles are not at stake here, but the interest of the fans is still huge. After all, the famous blogger Paul will fight with a professional boxer for the first time.

Jake Paul is one of the world’s most popular and highly-paid vloggers. He is known for short videos and pranks with humor on the verge of a foul. Originally, he started with Vine videos. However, as the platform was replaced by other apps and the TikTok logo became associated with short videos, the vlogger moved to more popular platforms. The vlogger also acted in films, recorded music albums, and is successfully engaged in business.

In 2018, Paul tried himself in the ring for the first time, defeating another YouTuber Deji with a technical knockout. The event was broadcast live on YouTube and showed record results. For this reason, Paul was offered to try himself in the professional ring. Actually, YouTube plays an important role in his life. The video-sharing site launched in February 2005 and since then, not only has the YouTube logo changed, but also the lives of many YouTubers.

Jake continued boxing and in 2020, Jake had two fights, knocking out vlogger Ali Eson Gib and ex-basketball player Nate Robinson. This gave him grounds to raise the level of opposition and go up against MMA fighter – Ben Askren. Unexpectedly, he defeated the opponent in the opening round. After several other victories, the YouTuber has signed a contract with the PFL MMA promotion, so his debut in mixed martial arts is coming.

Tommy Fury is the first rival of Jake Paul who can finally be safely recorded as a full-fledged boxer. He is not just an athlete but a full-fledged boxer, engaged only in boxing. Tommy is best known for being the younger brother of heavyweight king Tyson Fury. He also gained popularity thanks to his participation in the reality show Love Island.

After his professional debut in 2018, Tommy’s first five opponents had a combined record of 12 wins with 174 losses and 5 draws. Since 2021, the boxer raised the level of opposition, beating ex-Bellator fighter Anthony Taylor and Polish gatekeeper Daniel Botsyansky.

The fight between the famous American video blogger and boxer Jake Paul and Briton Tommy Fury will bring each of the opponents several million dollars, and if the paid broadcast is successful, the total amount will go as high as 13 million dollars. WBC President Mauricio Suleiman also said that if he wins, Paul will be included in the organization’s ranking in the first heavyweight division.

Is there any chance for Paul to win? Will Tommy be able to defeat a vlogger? On February 26, Tommy Fury and Jake Paul will determine who is actually a better fighter. Even if Paul loses, he still needs to be respected: this guy beat Tyron Woodley twice and easily dealt with one of the most legendary MMA fighters Anderson Silva! Jake took up boxing as an adult and achieved considerable success. Yet, Tommy Fury is a professional boxer with good schooling. If he cannot defeat even a well-trained blogger, his career can be put an end to.
